Refreshments
Each attendee will receive refreshments that are included within the charge for the club.
• Breakfast may be cereal or toast with a variety of spreads and a drink of milk, milkshake or fruit juice.
• After School fruit juice and a biscuit are provided together with cereal or toast for those that are present at 4.30 p.m. Fresh fruit is always available.

Activities
Although we remain on school premises we try and provide a “home away from home”. We have a garden to play in and many indoor games and activities. There is also a quiet area for those who want to complete their homework and we are always willing to listen to the children read.

After School Clubs

We also have a range of after school activities. These include:

Art and Craft Clubs
Lancot's Art and Craft Clubs are a great way for children to have fun, be creative and learn new skills. It is an opportunity to get very messy, make new friends and some lovely gifts. Amongst others we have recently made rain sticks, world globes, flower pots, lucky hands and 3D fruits.
Introduction to Drama
The aim of this group is to stimulate the children's interest in drama. Each half term the children either explore a well known story, such as a Fairy Tale, or improvise their own stories.
Music and Drama Workshop
The drama group is for Key Stage 2 children and takes place after school once a week. At present we have 22 enthusiastic members and a growing waiting list. The drama group helps the children to focus and concentrate their energies and communication skills. They learn to read from a script and have discussions about props and their costumes during rehearsals.
French Club
This club is available to all full time children. If your child enjoys the French tuition in school, why not let them join in with the after school activities. We learn through play in a less formal atmosphere. In no time your child will be singing songs and engaging in short dialogues. For Year 3 and Year 4 children in particular this club provides a great head start for middle school.
Netball Club
We run a netball club for an hour, once a week after school. The club is available to Year 3 and Year 4 children and teaches basic ball skills, the rules of the game, game etiquette and how to operate as a team. Our aim is to develop skills to enable us to play friendly games with other local teams and to have fun taking part in a sports activity.
Computer Club
The computer club runs once a week. The children work at a computer on their own. We learn all about the fun bits of Microsoft Word, Paint, Publisher and Powerpoint. We help the children to make cards, calendars, gift boxes, origami etc. We use other school resources including a digital microscope for a “ Pond Life ” project. We also have five digital cameras that the children can use to make their own short films.
Cookery Club
This club is open to Year 4 children. The children are introduced to the basics of cookery through a variety of recipes, including dishes from other countries. The children are also taught about hygiene and Health and Safety.
Bookworm Club
Lancot Bookworms meet weekly after school in the school library. It is for children in Years 3 and 4 who love reading and want to try lots of different books. Each half term is based on a theme – we read, review and discuss our favourite titles. During the past two years we have made bookmarks, had an outdoor treasure hunt, designed front covers, held quizzes and welcomed local librarians. One of the highlights of the year is to read, discuss and vote for our favourite illustration for the Greenaway Award, a national award for the best picture book published that year. Our meetings are always lively and busy as we have so much to say and do!
Reporters Club
Calling all budding journalists, photographers and reporters! This is just the club for you. Children produce a termly newspaper which is sold to parents and the wider community. Complimentary copies are regularly sent to the Prime Minister and Buckingham Palace. This Club builds the children's confidence so that they can interview visitors, photograph events and report on a wide range of activities.
Spanish Club
This club is available to all full time children. We learn through play and song - in no time your child will be singing songs and engaging in short dialogues. For Year 3 and Year 4 children in particular this club provides a great head start for middle school.

As these are extra-curricular activities, all charges for these activities are compulsory. Details of all clubs are available from the school office.
